Caught you not paying attention…..

 

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!.  Pay attention to the entire email, not just the content.

• Look at the sender’s address. Does it look normal, are there any odd characters in the name?
• Were you expecting a message from this sender?
• Are there misspelled words or inconsistent sentence structure in the message?
• Does the message address you in general terms rather than how you normally are addressed by?

Don’t click, and don’t reply…..

• If you think you know the sender, call them to confirm they sent you the email.
• Don’t open any attachments, and do not click any links.
• Do NOT send any personal information such as SS number, Credit Card number, DOB, etc. to anyone who is soliciting it unless you initiated the dialogue and you know who you are dealing with
• DO NOT go online through an unsecure WiFi connection!!!!
• DO NOT access your office systems or your business email unless you are using a VPN, or a secure connection with a reliable, encrypted portal such as Logmein.
• DO NOT save your sign-on names and passwords in your browser.
